Cicada Pendant
Considering that their story arc includes years underground and then a dramatic (and screechy!) reappearance, it’s no wonder that cicadas have been a go-to symbol of rebirth in many cultures. Their elegant shape is a comforting reminder of nature’s cycles: things end, and other things begin again.

MATERIALS slip-cast porcelain, nylon, vintage porcelain beads
MECHANISM The closure is a hand-tied sliding macramé knot; the cord ends are capped with vintage porcelain beads. Slip the cord over your head, then pull the beads in opposite directions to shorten the cord to a comfortable length.
CARE Made from high-fired porcelain, these pendants are comparable to a china cup; they may break if dropped on a hard surface, but with gentle handling will last for years. They can be washed by hand with soap and water.
